Our Summary

To evaluate the effects of PEMF on cartilage apoptosis signaling pathway in rats is the aim of this study. A total of 48 rats were divided into 4 groups comprising of the sham group, the ovariectomy control group, the ovariectomy with oestradiol group and the ovariectomy with PEMF group. Results showed that PEMF stimulated XIAP mRNA expression and decreased Bax mRNA expression which indicated that PEMF therapy may be beneficial to postmenopausal osteoarthritis.
