Efficiency of pulsed electromagnetic fields on pain, disability, anxiety, depression, and quality of life in patients with cervical disc herniation: a randomized controlled study

Our Summary

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of PEMF on quality of life, pain, psychological state and disability in cervical disc herniation. The 1st group received PEMF, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and hot pack (HP) while the other group received sham PEMF together with TENS and HP. Results showed significant enhancement in quality of life, pain, depression and anxiety and disability for both groups indicating PEMF therapy is a safe addition to conventional treatments in cervical disc herniation.
