Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy Improves Osseous Consolidation after High Tibial Osteotomy in Elderly Patients—A Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blind Trial

Our Summary

Since ELF-PEMF therapy has shown bone healing improvement after surgery, the purpose of this study is to evaluate its bone healing effects on osteoblast function after high tibial osteotomy. Findings show that after ELF-PEMF therapy, there was an increase in bone-specific alkaline phosphatase serum levels compared to the control which means ELF-PEMF shows promise in bone healing. There were also no adverse effects reported.
