Our Summary

With PEMF emerging as one of the non-invasive therapeutic options for cerebral ischemia, this study aims to evaluate the effects of PEMF on human astrocytes, which plays an important role right after ischemia. Results showed that after PEMF treatment, there was a significant reduction in oxygen-glucose deprivation, induced cell proliferation and viability decrease in the neuron-like cells SH-SY5Y that strengthens the potential of PEMF treatment for cerebral ischemia.
