Our Summary

For this study, the effects of low frequency PEMF on promoting cell proliferation and osteogenic differentiation has been closely examined. Human Adipose-Derived Stem Cells were grouped into an experimental group, which received PEMF treatment with a 50 Hz frequency and 1 mT intensity for 2 hours per day, while the control group were without PEMF treatment. Results showed that at the early stage, PEMF could be beneficial in promoting cell proliferation of human ASCs and an increase in bone-related gene expression was evident after PEMF exposure of 2-weeks.
