Our Summary

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of PEMF treatment on neurite outgrowth of rat cell PC12 using varying frequencies and flux densities. Findings suggest that low frequency PEMF had no significant effect to neurite outgrowth but high frequency PEMF and high intensity treatments decreased neurite-bearing cells and significantly increased neurite length while a steady flux density of 1.37 had significant effects on outgrowth. This study confirms positive effects of PEMF on neurite outgrowth.
