Our Summary

The rationale of this study is to evaluate the effects of PEMF on human intervertebral disc (IVD) cells. Cultured human IVD cells were exposed to 60 Hz frequency and 1.8 mT intensity PEMF treatment while a control group was created as well for comparison. Findings show that PEMF modulated the proliferation of IVD cells, that in effect, can increase cell therapy for degenerative disc disease.
