Evaluation of the efficacy of pulsed electromagnetic therapy in the treatment of back pain: a randomized controlled trial in a tertiary hospital in Nigeria

Our Summary

One of the most common problems in orthopaedics is Musculoskeletal system disorders (MSD), in which back pain is the most prevalent. This study aims to investigate the effects of PEMF on back pain treatment. Sixteen patients with back pain were divided into 2 groups. Group A received PEMF and standard medications while Group B only received standard medication. Results show that patients who received PEMF treatment had significantly accelerated pain relief and improved functionality.
