Effectiveness of an Innovative Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields Stimulation in Healing of Untreatable Skin Ulcers in the Frail Elderly: Two Case Reports

Our Summary

Due to the significant morbidity and mortality rate of recalcitrant skin ulcers among elderly, this article reviews the 1st reported case of treating the disease using PEMF therapy called Emysimmetric Bilateral Stimulation (EBS). Two elderly patients with chronic skin ulcerations who are at risk of amputation received EBS. Results showed that within a few weeks of treatment, major improvements are evident and all ulcers had healed.
