Our Summary

Due to the concerns of ELF-EMF stimulations on circadian rhythms, this study investigates the effects of ELF-EMF exposures to melatonin production that regulates circadian rhythms. A total of 40 rats were divided into 2 groups comprising of the test group, the group that was exposed to 50 Hz frequency at 100 uT intensity ELF-EMF for 2 hours a day for 3 months and the control group. Results showed that ELF-EMF exposure did not have significant effects on melatonin levels and therefore had no effect in circadian rhythms.
