Our Summary

Previous studies proved that PEMF can stimulate healing of bones as well as decrease arthritis symptoms but little is know in terms its effects on intervertebral disc (IVD). This study now aims to evaluate the effects of PEMF on gene expression of IVD cells. Cultured cells were exposed to PEMF for 7 days at 4 hours per day. Results suggest that PEMF therapy beneficially affects IVD cells and could be of help to IVD degeneration patients.
