Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Assisted in vitro Electroporation: A Pilot Study

Disclaimer: this research study’s copyright belongs to the authors and PubMed and not HealthMatReview.com, further details below.

Our Summary

When cells are exposed to Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF), electroporation happens wherein membrane permeability increases. This has been widely used in drug delivery, food processing and biotechnology. With the knowledge of PEMF inducing electric fields 2 – 3 magnitude lower than PEF, this study investigates the combination of treatments and how it will affects membrane permeability. Results showed that membrane permeability increased while electric field magnitude decreased when PEMF is utilized for electroporation.
