Hydroxytyrosol contributes to cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis in pulsed electromagnetic fields treated human umbilical vein endothelial cells in vitro

Our Summary

The rationale of this study is to analyze the effectivity of PEMF and hydroxytyrosol (HTY) on the differentiation and proliferation capabilities of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). Three groups comprising of the control group, PEMF group and PEMF plus HTY treated group were evaluated. PEMF frequency was set at 50 Hz while the intensity was at 2.25 mT. Results showed the combination of PEMF and HTY stimulated cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis which makes these treatments effective in wound healing.
