Effects of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) on the tensile biomechanical properties of diabetic wounds at different phases of healing

Disclaimer: this research study’s copyright belongs to the authors and PubMed and not HealthMatReview.com, further details below.

Our Summary

Effects of PEMF was tested on the different stages of healing of diabetic wounds using two intensities, 2 mT and 10 mT. A total of 111 10-week-old male rats, diabetically induced, were divided into 3 groups with one control group. The 10 mT intensity showed improved healing in the early stage but both intensities impaired the remodeling phase meaning PEMF may be used in treatment only for structural recovery.
