Our Summary

This study aims to evaluate the effects of PEMF on pro-inflammatory cytokines that are well known to contribute to intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration and discogenic pain. A total of 72 rats with tails with acute inflammation form IVD injury model were divided into a sham group, needle stab and needle stab and PEMF exposure. Results were evident that PEMF exposure lead to anti-inflammatory effects disc cells but had inconsistent data on the inhibitory effect on cytokine expression.
