Histological Analysis of Bone Callus in Delayed Union Model Fracture Healing Stimulated with Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF)

Our Summary

Over the years, PEMF has long been one of the go to treatments bone fracture healing. Using this treatment for delayed union fracture is the purpose of this study. For the experiment, a control group with sham treatment consisting of 12 rats and an experimental group which received PEMF treatment consisting of 12 rats were used. The experimental group underwent a 50 Hz frequency and 1.6 mT intensity PEMF on the left femur after a delayed union fracture. According to the findings, there were more cartilage growth compared to the control and less fibrous tissue at the start of the healing process which the effectivity PEMF treatment on bone fracture healing as well as lessening the possibility of delayed union.
