Our Summary

One of the downsides of cigarette smoking (CS) is that it negatively affects the structural integrity of primary cilia as well as osteoprogenitor cells. This study aims to evaluate the effects of ELF-PEMF on CS-related bone disease. Results show that 16 Hz frequency for 30 minutes a day PEMF therapy improved cell adhesion, sped up migration and TGF-? signaling in osteoprogenitor cells. In conclusion, for patients who smoke, ELF-PEMF promoted early bone regeneration.
