Our Summary
Due to the beneficial effects of PEMF on osteoporosis treatment and improving bone fracture healing, this study now aims to investigate the effect of PEMF on osteoblastogenesis utilizing superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle (SPION)-labeled BMMSCs. Rats with SPION were exposed to 50 Hz frequency and 1.1 mT intensity low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic field (LPEMF). Results confirm that the combined LPEMF and SPION stimulated migration and osteogenic differentiation of BMMSCs which can be used in bone defect treatment.
